Nipper Mascot Makes 2nd Anime Cameo in Frame Arms Girl
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Japanese toolmaker God Hand introduced its mascot character Ultimate Nipako and she's since appeared in a manga series and as a GPS guide voiced by Rumi Ookubo. She's even pitched alcohol.
The character recently appeared in Frame Arm Girls, an anime about sentient model kit girls. As far as collaborations go, Nipako was a shoe-in. God Hand's Ultimate Nippers tool's primary purpose is for model building. You can spot her in episode six.
The cameo is the character's second anime appearance. She also showed up in episode nine of Nurse Witch Komugi-chan R last year where she's shown assisting other minor characters.
Nipako was created in 2013 and boasts a large white ribbon on her head to emulate the teeth of the nippers and voluminous twin-tails to represent the handles. Although she's known as "Nipako," her real name is Celine P. Nippanu and she's an alien princess.
Frame Arms Girl premiered in Japan on Tokyo MX on April 3. The anime is based on Kotobukiya's Frame Arms models line of plastic robot model kits designed by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse). The new Frame Arms Girl line, introduced in 2015, introduces new designs by Humikane Shimada (Strike Witches, Girls und Panzer character designs), featuring robots from the original Frame Arms line portrayed as girls. The first model in the line, Gōrai, is based on Yanase's robot design with the same name.
The series' main character Ao is also a fan of Tachikawa regional mascot Udolla. You can spot the ghost like veggie creature in her room and in other places in the series.
