Yurio's Amazing 'Welcome to the Madness' Routine Shown in Production Sketches
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
By now, most Yuri!!! on Ice fans have seen the intense two-minute bonus video of Yuri Plisetsky skating his "Welcome to The Madness" routine. The rock-and-roll skating routine has the Russian teen brandishing dark eyeliner and aesthetically torn clothing while imitating some of Johnny Weir's signature skating moves. It was included as a bonus on the final volume of the Yuri!!! on Ice home video release in Japan, the same volume that topped sales charts during its release.
The official Yuri!!! on Ice Twitter account shared rough and finalized sketches of some of the routine on Tuesday. Fans can take a look at how the stunning animation materialized from the beginning.

The series' character designer Tadashi Hiramatsu also shared the video, adding the comment: "Rotation, centrifugal force, inertial force, gravity, mass...It would be nice if there was detail, but this is true animation. I mean (it's obvious but) movement is what makes it animation."
