Jiisama ga Iku Manga Tells Story of Old Man Living in Another World

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

AlphaPolis released the first compiled book volume of Ayano Urasuke's Jiisama ga Iku (English subtitle: "An Oldman in Counterworld.") manga on Thursday. The series adapts Hotaruishi's novels of the same name about an old man transported to another world.

The story centers on 73-year-old Seitarō Asao, who runs a tea plantation. Due to a god's mistake, he gets transported to another world in the place of his grandchild. He then starts a second life 10 years younger as 63-year-old Seitarō. Through his wisdom of an old man and "assistance magic," he is able to live a leisurely life in his new home.

In addition to the story serialized on AlphaPolis' website, the compiled volume includes an original 20-page story.

Urasuke launched the manga on AlphaPolis' website in April, and the sixth chapter will debut on October 24. Most chapters of the manga are currently available to read for free on the website. AlphaPolis released the first volume of Hotaruishi's novel series in January, and the third volume shipped on September 1.
