It's Twice the Sweetness When Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga Meets Sanrio's Cinnamoroll
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The winter anime season looks promising already, but one of my top anticipated series is the latest twist on the Oda Nobunaga plot: samurai dogs. The warlord finds a new life as a pampered Shiba Inu named "Cinnamon" in Una Megurogawa's manga and the television anime Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga. He's joined by a variety of pooches who are all Sengoku-period military figures or politicians. The cute pup shares a name with another renown kawaii mascot: Sanrio's Cinnamon. The two dogs caught up with another at a local cafe. Cinnamon introduces his new furry comrade to mocha (the brown, long-eared puppy).
The collaboration was drawn by Cinnamoroll character designer Miyuki Okumura. She produced two images, the one above and then a second one was posted to Twitter on Friday.

The series' cast will appear at a pre-screening event at the Picadilly theater in Shinjuku on December 28. The series is slated to premiere in January.
