The official YouTube channel for Keiji Inafune's company Comcept began streaming a promotional video on Friday for its upcoming side-scrolling adventure game Mighty No. 9. The video features gameplay footage, but specifies that the gameplay is still a work-in-progress.
Inafune (Megaman) and his company raised over US$3.5 million in its crowdfunding campaign in October. The side-scrolling adventure will be released in Spring 2015 for PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Alongside Inafune, Naoya Tomita (Mega Man level design, Mega Man 2 stages, Mega Man 5 & 8 character designs) will be designing the game, and Takenori Kimoto a.k.a. "Kimo Kimo" (Darkstalkers 3, Vampire Hunter 2 character design) is designing the characters. Original Mega Man soundtrack composer Manami Matsumae will be providing the music.
In addition to the game, Inafune is in talks with Contradiction Films writer and producer Tim Carter for a possible Mighty No. 9 live-action adaptation.
