Japan Expo Welcomes the Writer Gen Urobuchi

Japan Expo is glad to announce another guest for its 2nd edition in San Mateo! After coming to Anime Expo in early July, the writer and script writer Gen Urobuchi is looking forward to his first visit to Japan Expo for conference and signing sessions!

Born December 20, 1972, Gen Urobuchi is a Japanese writer for visual novels, light novels, and anime. He is known for his dark style, nihilistic themes, and tragic plot twists, earning him the fan nickname «Urobutcher.»

Gen Urobuchi debuted as a writer in 2000 with “PHAN-TOM OF INFERNO” After this, he worked on many other Nitroplus PC game scripts including “Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer” and “Saya no Uta." He began writing novels in 2004. He is known for the work that he did on “Fate/Zero”, which debuted as an anime in October 2011.

In 2008, he started writing for anime. His credits include “Blassreiter,” “Puella Magi Madoka Magica,” “Psycho-Pass,” “Gargantia,” and more.

In 2013 he challenged himself by writing the script for the live action series “Kamen Rider Gaim,” which is currently airing on television. His first original movie, “Expelled from Paradise” is slated for release in Japan in November 2014.
